The South Metro Rose Society will be holding its 26th Annual Rose Show on May 14-15 at Kiwanis Center, 936 Redwine Road in Fayetteville. Local rose growers are invited to enter their roses for judging between 7-10 a.m. on the 14th.
Members of the society will advise newcomers on entering their roses by calling the number below. The show is free to the public from 1-4 p.m. on both days to view, smell, and photograph hundreds of roses and rose arrangements. All show visitors will be eligible to enter a drawing for two free tickets to the Georgia Renaissance Festival. Rose bouquets will be sold and there will be an Information Table staffed by ARS Consulting Rosarians. Items to be raffled include a 24k gold-plated rose pin from R. DuBose Jewelers, miniature and large rose bushes of different varieties, Bionic gardening gloves, restaurant gift certificates, and more.
South Metro Rose Society (SMRS) is affiliated with The American Rose Society and meets on the 4th Monday of most months at The Heritage Bank at 440 N. Jeff Davis Dr. in Fayetteville. All rose enthusiasts, especially novices, are invited to visit the meetings. Call 770-631-3885.
