Providence begins Holy Week with a special day on Palm Sunday when children proceed up the aisle with palms at all three services.

At the 9 and 11:11 a.m. Contemporary Services, Todd Little, art teacher at Starr’s Mill High School, will begin worship painting during the opening music set.

Little, who shares his art at private and church functions, paints with his hands rather than brushes and takes about 30 minutes to complete artwork in the theme of the message and the music.

The traditional worship service at 10 a.m. includes choir, liturgy and piano.

On Maundy Thursday, Providence will observe the Last Supper of Christ with four short dramatic presentations reenacting Biblical people who were touched by Jesus’ ministry, followed by Holy Communion. The service begins promptly at 7 p.m. in the worship center. Free childcare is provided for children who cannot sit quietly during this reverent service. Those leaving children in childcare should plan to arrive early.

Easter Sunday will feature three services with a message by Senior Pastor Warren Huddleston. Traditional worship at 10 a.m. includes the adult choir singing “The Hallelujah Chorus” and music by the Handbell Choir. The 9 and 11:11 a.m. contemporary services include praise music by a full worship band led by Adam Holt.

Providence is at 592 Bernhard Rd. in southern Fayette County. Go to www.provumc.com for more information or call 770-719-8800.
