The South Atlanta Tea Party (SATP) will host its customary “Tax Day” event in a different format this year. SATP on April 15 will host its first American Liberty Summit at the Fayette Family Church located 1729 Ga. Highway 54 West near Fayetteville. The free Friday evening program begins at 6:30 p.m. and pre-registration is requested.

Organizers said there will be a variety of speakers to discuss aspects of the core values of the Tea Party which include limited government, fiscal responsibility, free market systems and the preservation of our American heritage.

The event will include remarks from local business man and founding TEA Party member Marty Harbin, who will be speaking on the disturbing trend of government spending and ever increasing demand on taxpayers.

Also speaking will be Dr. Jody Hice, radio talk show host of Let Freedom Ring. Hice will tackle the challenging topic of radical Islam.

And U.S. Air Force (USAF) veteran and public speaker, T.C. Meuninck will share how citizens can engage their politicians and make a difference in their community.

Organizers said there will be educational workshops for elementary, middle school and high school students.

“We welcome everyone to come to this event. Part of the South Atlanta TEA Party, and TEA Party Patriots’ mission in general, is to foster a more informed electorate. When it comes to being a good citizen it does not matter how old or young you are,” said SATP president Brian Graffius.
