Bank of Coweta, a division of Synovus Bank, will host a Peanut Butter and Jelly Food Drive to benefit the Coweta Community Food Pantry, April 2-30 during normal banking hours. April 2 just happens to be National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day!
Bank of Coweta is very much at the heart of community life in Coweta County, supporting those organizations and programs that make the local community a desirable place to live and work. Recognizing that there is an urgent need for food that offers good nutrition to children, the bank is focusing on a staple lunchtime classic – peanut butter and jelly.
“Our team members are passionate about making a difference in the local communities we serve. The challenging economy has caused more and more families to reach out to the Coweta Community Food Pantry for assistance and we felt compelled to take action. Our team has a genuine soft-spot for kids and we want to be sure they have the nutritious food they need to get through the day energized and excited to learn,” said Anne Bell, President of Bank of Coweta.
“We are hosting our PB&J Food Drive from April 2 – 30 so that our local school partners Newnan High School (sponsored by the Sociology Department) and Northgate High School (sponsored by the Key Club) can help us collect as much PB&J as possible. The impact will be tremendous,” Bell added.
Local residents, customers and friends of Bank of Coweta are encouraged to visit any of the six branches and drop off as much peanut butter and jelly as they can carry. The banking team would love to see both creamy and crunchy varieties of peanut butter and every imaginable flavor of jelly to appeal to every child in Coweta County.
Dropoff locations are the six branches in Newnan at Jefferson Street, South Court Square, Lakeside Way, Temple Avenue and Thomas Crossroads as well as the branch in Senoia. For more information about these locations and branch hours, visit www.bankofcoweta.com.
