Barbara Miles Karr of Peachtree City died after a short illness on March 2, 2011, a month before her 85th birthday. She died peacefully in her home.

Mrs. Karr was the youngest of five children of Madeline Flynn Miles and Hugh Miles of San Francisco, California. She resided in the Golden Gate City, most recently in the Mount Davidson area, until her retirement from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company where she had worked for 31 years. Barbara Karr was devoted to the well-being of animals, was a lifelong member of the Humane Society, and regularly donated generously to Humane Societies in locales where natural disasters had struck to assist in the rescue and recovery of family pets. She also was active in the Peachtree City New Neighbors group. Her entire life she enjoyed music, movies, and the company of friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her four siblings and is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Karr’s ashes will rest in Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City. Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, March 12, 2011, between 2 pm and 4 pm at her home.
