Jay Taylor was recently named as the recipient of the Outstanding American History Teacher of the Year by the James Waldrop Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution in Fayetteville.  Taylor, a teacher at Whitewater High School and a former Fayette County High School teacher, believes the student is the first priority in the class. He creates a learning environment where students can be challenged, develop discipline and become excited about learning. He encourages citizenship and patriotism, learning about the core documents of our country, and tries to develop an appreciation of the sacrifices that our founding fathers and others made to create this country.  The James Waldrop Chapter DAR is chartered in Fayetteville.
