The Coweta County Commission at the Jan. 18 meeting approved a perimeter planting variance request for Lot 1 of the Thomas Grace Annex commercial development off Andrew Bailey Road near Ga. Highway 34 east of Thomas Crossroads.
County Zoning Administrator Angela White in addressing the request said the property lines when initially submitted for review were located such that the existing perimeter planting area and dumpster area were included as required by ordinance.
The property is now owned by the Bank of Georgia, White said, and property lines have been reconfigured in such a way that the perimeter planting area and dumpster area are no longer on property owned by the applicant, Hwy. 34 Retail Partners, LLC.
White said the applicant would like to complete the development of the site, adding that the dumpster can be moved with a reciprocal easement agreement involving the adjacent property owners.
The site is home to Taco Bell, KFC and H&J Wings & Things.
The Coweta County Planning Department recommended approval of the variance request.
