Sahar Hekmati, who was born in Afghanistan and emigrated to the U.S.A. as a youth, will be the guest speaker at the Fayette County Republican Party First Saturday Breakfast on Dec. 4.

Sahar will talk about Afghanistan, the role of religion in the society, and the impact of the Bush Literacy Project there.  She is currently president of the Conservative Republican Women in Henry County, active in the Henry County Republican Party, a member of the State Committee of the Georgia Republican Party, and involved with women’s issues and Christian ministries.  In 2009, Sahar received a commendation from Governor Sonny Perdue for her volunteer work.  She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and an eleven year resident of Georgia.  Sahar, Aaron, her husband of fifteen years, and their children live in Ellenwood, Ga.

The breakfast begins at 9 a.m. at the IHOP, 705 N. Jeff Davis Dr., Fayetteville.  All interested Republicans are invited to attend.  For more information, please call 770-716-1545.
