Under beautiful autumn skies in October approximately 1,000 participants from seven counties on Atlanta’s southside (Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Fulton, Henry, Spalding and Meriwether) enjoyed a 5K stroll along Peachtree City’s path system in recognition of the 11th Annual Southern Crescent Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.

After tabulating all donations, including sponsor, individual, team and in-kind contributions, the final result was $197,941. The total amount raised for the Alzheimer’s Association by the walks in Peachtree City over the past 11 years is an impressive $1,926,284.

During the recent Awards Banquet at Whitewater Country Club the top team from each county collecting donations was presented with a recognition plaque. The top team from Fayette County was Ashley Glen/Ivey, which raised $9,323.

The team represented Ashley Glen Assisted Living & Alzheimer’s Care in Peachtree City. The team captains were Elaine Gaillard and Joe Ivey. None of the Walk volunteers receive compensation.
