Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone collected hand towels, wash cloths, nail clippers, combs, toothbrushes, soap, and bandages to make health kits for people who are displaced because of natural disasters.

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) stores these health kits in a warehouse so they can be ready to ship to disaster areas.

The congregation met for supper on Wednesday, Oct. 6, to celebrate the end of the collection period. Hopewell assembled 200 health kits and shipped them to UMCOR to help with the next disaster.

The project was sponsored by Hopewell’s Mission Committee.
