Bartels-Buller wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Bartels of Peachtree City announce the marriage of their daughter, Erin Diane Bartels, to Thomas Stanley Buller, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Buller of Billings, Mont. The wedding took place at a Nuptial Mass on June 12, 2010 at the Newman Catholic Student Center on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Monsignor John Wall officiated.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a traditional gown of natural-colored dupioni silk with embroidered lace, pearl, and crystal trim, and a fingertip-length veil edged in lace. She carried a bouquet of peonies, roses, hydrangeas, and a single orchid, along with a pearl covered Missal.

The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Megan Shelton. Bridesmaids were Amy Hall and Carolyn Wendorf, sisters of the groom, and Kathleen Powers, friend of the bride. The flower girl was Sophie Hall, niece of the groom, escorted by usher Alex Hall, nephew of the groom.

Abraham Nussbaum served as best man. Groomsmen were Calin Buia and Bryan Davis, friends of the couple, and Brett Bartels, brother of the bride.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Richmond. She is currently on a teaching fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill, completing her Ph.D. in English.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Billings Central Catholic High School and a 1999 graduate of The University of Notre Dame. He received his graduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and works as an environmental engineer with MACTEC Engineering in Greensboro, N.C.

Following the ceremony, a dinner-dance reception was held at Snipes Farm Retreat near Chapel Hill. After a honeymoon in Cape Carteret, N.C. and Ireland the couple now resides in Whitsett, N.C.
