Fayetteville Police are searching for two men who robbed a food delivery truck attendant at gunpoint behind a restaurant at 913 N. Glynn Street Thursday afternoon.
The driver was inside the restaurant when two black males approached the driver’s assistant who was sitting inside the truck, Fayetteville Police spokesperson Mike Whitlow said. One of the men stepped up onto the truck, pointed a handgun at the assistant and demanded money, Whitlow said.
When the assistant said he had no money, the man reached into the cab and grabbed a backpack. With the stolen backpack in hand, the two men fled southwest in the direction of Jeff Davis Place, said Whitlow.
Whitlow said the driver’s assistant reported that the backpack contained approximately $4,000 in cash.
Both of the robbers were described as being approximately six feet in height with dreadlocks, with one wearing a black shirt and the other wearing a red shirt and blue jean shorts.
Anyone with information relating to the robbery is asked to contact Det. Melissa Peacock at 770-719-4227.
