Representatives from the Lafayette Nursing and Rehab Center in Fayetteville presented Becky Davenport, Executive Director of Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Inc (FYPH) and several Board members with a $275.00 donation; the proceeds from employee run bake sales held at the nursing home.  Cecelia DeWaard, Office Manager, Kristin Hall, Payroll Benefit Coordinator and Melissa Hausen, Executive Director of the nursing and rehab center organized a bake sale and children’s clothing drive as part of their “September, The Month of Caring” campaign.

The clothing donation from Lafayette Nursing and Rehab center will be used in Gracie’s Closet.    Gracie’s Closet provides Fayette County foster children with free clothing (size newborn through teen) baby gear, books and school supplies.  Items are either new or gently used, and the environment is like that of a fun store! The mission of Gracie’s Closet is to make foster children feel special and provide them with some of the things they need and deserve.

Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Inc. was founded in 1986 by a group of Fayette County citizens who recognized the need for children to have a safe place protected from abuse and neglect.  Through a contract with Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes, FYPH provides the clinical services and staff for children who have been displaced from their homes. Children are provided housing in a home owned by FYPH in Brooks, Georgia.  The group also supports a comprehensive, privatized foster care program for children of all ages.  For more information regarding the Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Inc., to become a donor, a volunteer, or to learn more about becoming a foster care family, please contact Becky Davenport, Executive Director, at 770.461.7020 or via the groups website at www.fyph.org.
