Harry T. Smith, 74, of Newnan, Ga. passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010 after a four-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).
He was born in 1936 in Charleston, Illinois and was raised in Toledo, Ohio. He retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1980 after over 20 years of service. He then joined Universal Studios in Los Angeles, Ca. where he retired in 1997 as a Senior Vice President. He later moved to Peachtree City, GA. then on to Colorado Springs, CO. until he was diagnosed with IPF, at which time he then returned to Georgia.
He is survived by his wife Rachel Smith and her sons Brandon King of Fayetteville, GA. and Garrett King of Galveston, TX, his sister Patricia Lawson of Peachtree City, GA., stepson Karl Brenstuhl and wife Wendy and their children Jaimie and Fisher of Camp Hill, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry was best known for his fascination with politics and movies and his love of luxury ocean cruising and golf.
Visitation will be held at Carl J. Mowell Funeral Home, 200 Robinson Road, Peachtree City, GA. on Monday, September 27th from 6 pm to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 101 Walt Banks Road, Peachtree City, GA on Tuesday September 28, at 11 AM.
