Chamber of Commerce President Boothby selected as officer for state association

Candace Boothby, president of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce, has been selected Second Vice-Chair/Treasurer of the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (GACCE) for 2010-2011. She will Chair the organization for the 2013-2014 term.

GACCE is the professional society of Georgia chambers of commerce executives and staff. The GACCE mission is to provide exceptional services to its members in professional development, education, information and best practices as well as to advocate the local Chamber’s role in economic and community development.

Prior to becoming an officer of the board, Candace served three years as Vice-Chair, Marketing and Communications for GACCE. She recently began her fifth year as a Director. She has presented numerous programs for GACCE and ACCE (Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives), the national association, and has written articles for ACCE’s national publication. Other contributions to GACCE include designing and presenting training programs for the annual and staff clinic conferences.

Candace’s professional development achievements include her designation as a Georgia Certified Chamber Executive (GCCE), one of only 15 in the state, and the national certification of APR (Accredited in Public Relations). She is a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

She has been the President of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce for seven years and has been instrumental in creating numerous value-added programs for members of the organization as well as achieving significant strides in financial stability. Candace has been involved in chamber and association work for 23 years, her entire professional career. She is a 1987 graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
