Former Palmetto resident and Campbell High School (of Fairburn) graduate, Robert Ray will appear in concert at the Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn for two nights only – Aug. 20 and 21.

Ray is a four-time NYC Cabaret nominee and in Atlanta he has produced and directed the “75th Anniversary of the Fox Theatre” along with special concerts for Underground’s Peach Drop, WSB’s Christmas Parade and Lenox Square’s 4th of July Celebrations.

Joining Ray onstage will be a 10-piece Swing Orchestra and four of the Metropolitan area’s top female vocalists, Shea Johnson of Newnan, Shawn Megorden from Carrollton, Courtenay Collins of Sandy Springs and Marsha Dupree who resides in Decatur.

The first act will have you stepping back in time to enjoy songs made famous by Tony Bennett, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra…such as “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “That’s Life,” “The Best is Yet to Come,” “Route 66,” “Blues in the Night,” “Lady is a Tramp” and many more.

The second act will scale down to a six-piece band backing Ray in some of the great music of the 70’s such as “Stand by Me,” “I Love the Nightlife,” “Lady Marmalade,” “I Will Survive” and medleys of Burt Bacharach, Carole King and Stevie Wonder favorites.

Ray will also give two teenage acts a chance to make their professional debut – The Winborne Brothers of Atlanta and Kyndall Kearns of Fayetteville.

Ray is a seasoned performer/producer who has performed at The Palace Theater on Broadway and many of the country’s top theaters such as The Kennedy Center Wolf Trap, The Pantages in L.A, The Curran in San Francisco, St. Louis Muny and The Kansas City and Indianapolis Starlight Theaters.
