Community Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fayetteville is revitalizing the “Project Linus” program which makes no-sew fleece security blankets, receiving blankets, quilts, crotcheted and knitted afghans and comforters for newborns and children,.

“Project Linus” volunteers provide new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill or tramatized children (ages 0 -18). These blankets are distributed to local hospitals, DEFACS offices, police, fire and sheriffs departments, homeless shelters or anywhere that a child needs a big hug.

Those interested in helping are asked to to meet at the church, 349 Kenwood Rd., on Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring a sandwich and a drink and learn all about the project which is a 100 percent volunteer non-profit organization.

To learn more about “Project Linus,” or to ask questions, go to the website, projectlinus.org or contact Shirley Avery, 770-487-8974.
