Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church and Pearl Ministries, Inc. will have a church yard sale to benefit African orphans, Friday, Aug. 13 from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 14 from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This will be the fifth yard sale hosted by CLPC to benefit Ranch on Jesus Ministries in Uganda, East Africa. Past sales have raised upwards of $9,500. Ranch on Jesus is an Ugandan organization dedicated to improving the lives of orphans, needy children and their families. In a nation torn by war, disease and poverty, Ranch on Jesus seeks to bring hope and healing to communities through the light of the Gospel. Since its founding in 2002, Ranch on Jesus has impacted the lives of over 500 youth through its children’s home and primary school.
Pearl Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded by Peachtree City native, Jamie (Rosser) Laslo and her husband, Scott, who serves as the ministry’s president. Uganda is known as the Pearl of Africa. It is home to over 3 million orphans, ten percent of the nation’s population. Pearl Ministries’ mission is to equip and empower Ugandan communities to care for vulnerable children through gospel-centered, holistic development. Pearl Ministries is based in Birmingham, Ala. Donations of items for the sale will be accepted Monday – Wednesday the week of the sale between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City.
