Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gaines Whitley of Raleigh, N.C. announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Gaines Whitley, to Mark Alan Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis William Edwards of Fayetteville.

The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and is an industrial designer for The Aspen Brands Company. She resides in Atlanta.

The groom-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology. He is currently employed by Pond & Company and also resides in Atlanta.

The wedding will be Oct. 16, 2010, at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, N.C.
