The Campus expands by offering elementary education

On the heels of receiving the highest accreditation level from GAC (Georgia Accrediting Commission), The Campus, a non-traditional learning environment in Peachtree City, is expanding its impact by offering elementary education.

Evelyn Plott, founder and director of The Campus, believes the addition of the elementary school is going to bring about an immediate response. “For more than a decade we have been successfully educating middle and high school students with our unique approach to learning,” said Plott. “Because of that success, parents have been asking us to fill a void in the elementary area, and we are responding to that demand.”

The Campus has evolved from Plott teaching her youngest daughter in the basement of their home to a burgeoning campus staffed by over 20 education professionals in Peachtree City. “The reason for our success is two-fold,” Plott believes. “The Campus is unlike any educational environment on the Southside of Atlanta, and we have consistently demonstrated the ability unlock the potential in students. In addition, we recognize that genuine success relies on something intangible that is not measured or even considered in most educational settings. It is the mission of The Campus to blend academic excellence in a standardized sense with this intangible idea we call ‘Purpose’.”

The Campus is now taking applications for grades 1-12 for the 2010-2011 school year. Smaller class size is just one of the elements for success, but an important one. The Campus maintains an average student-teacher ratio of about 8:1. “Limited enrollment ensures the proper instructional level is achieved; once a class reaches capacity, enrollment will be capped,” said Plott.
