Providence United Methodist Church will offer a “Parenting is Heart Work” seminar Saturday, June 12, from 8:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The seminar is open to the community and emphasizes helping parents solve the real problems they are facing. A children’s program is offered at the same time, so that the whole family can attend.
Each session begins with a video segment entitled, “Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes in You and Your Kids.” This series is produced by the National Center for Biblical Parenting, out of Lawrenceville, N.J., and features the team teaching by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, R.N., B.S.N. Using drama, stories, and an interactive style, the two teachers provide practical advice parents can put into practice right away.
At the same time, a complete children’s program is provided for children ages 3-12.
The seminar cost is $20 per person, which includes lunch and a workbook. Seating is limited, so early registration is suggested. Go to www.provumc.com and click on the link or call the church office, 770-719-8800.
Providence is at 592 Bernhard Rd., Fayetteville, in southern Fayette County.
