Sara Harp Minter Elementary School opened its doors in 2002-2003 to students from surrounding Fayette County elementary schools. To celebrate the first year of the school’s opening, each charter student and faculty member had their hand prints painted on the school walls in the shape of a flower and the person’s name along with their hand prints.

During the summer of 2010, Sara Harp Minter Elementary School has been designated to be repainted and hand prints decorating the halls for the last eight years will be painted over. To capture the memories from the first year, all charter year students and faculty members are invited to Sara Harp Minter Elementary School on Sunday afternoon, May 23, from 3-5 p.m. for a reception honoring the school’s charter year history. Attendees are invited to bring their cameras so that they may have their picture taken one last time with their hand prints.

All charter students pictured are presently attending Whitewater Middle school or Whitewater High School.
