The Fayette County Historical Society cordially invites you to its annual Christmas Open house this Sunday, December 13 from 3p.m. to 4 p.m. It is located at 195 Lee Street, just behind the American Legion Log Cabin.
If you are looking for something different for a Christmas gift, the society has a number of Fayette-themed items. Perhaps a blue ceramic or clear glass mug would be just right for your coffee drinkers or it could be used as a pencil holder.
There are brass ornaments depicting Starr’s Mill, the Fayetteville Depot or the Holliday-Dorsey-Fife House would be a great addition to your family tree. They also have postcards of various Fayette County scenes. Don’t forget the newly published “Historic Fayette” book, a nice coffee table item.
The regular hours for the society are Tuesday’s, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday’s, 10 am. to 1 p.m. and Saturday’s, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. They meet each 3rd Sunday at 3 p.m., September through May. You do not have to be a member to attend.
