The Downtown Coweta County Farmers Market that takes place every Wednesday has been temporarily moved to a different downtown location for July 8.

It will be in the middle of downtown Newnan alongside South Court Square from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The usual location is at the Historic Train Depot during this timeframe, but it was moved due to filming that is currently occurring in the surrounding area. This is a great opportunity for downtown visitors and downtown employees to take advantage of the Market’s close proximity to the central business district.

The Farmers Market will return to the depot July 15 and remain there until Oct. 14. The Historic Train Depot is at 60 East Broad Street in Newnan.

It offers locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey and fresh cut flowers that follow the regional growing season. It is hosted weekly at two different local sites – downtown on Wednesdays and at the Asa M. Powell Sr. Expo Center on Saturday mornings.

The market is recognized by Georgia Grown, and holds a membership through this program. Produce sold at the downtown market must be agricultural and not craft. A small percentage of agricultural byproducts may be sold alongside some produce. The market is facilitated by the UGA Coweta County Extension office, in partnership with Main Street Newnan and Coweta County.
