Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Newnan will share its free drive-through Nativity, “The Greatest Gift,” again this year. The Nativity will be presented from 6  – 9:30 p.m. nightly beginning Thursday, Dec. 10 and continue through Sunday, Dec. 13 at Cornerstone UMC,  2956 Ga. Highway 154, Newnan (Thomas Crossroads, the intersection of Ga. Highways 154 and 34).

Those driving through will receive a narration CD (English or Spanish)at the entrance of the drive-through, and each car will be guided on a ten-scene journey depicting the birth of Jesus.

The scenes include the foretelling of the coming Messiah; the angel Gabriel’s visit to Mary; Caesar’s palace and the decree for the census; Mary and Joseph being turned away at the Inn; the Wise men on the way to Bethlehem; and the traditional Nativity scene, among others.

A nightly cast and crew of 100-plus people will help tell the story. Coffee and hot chocolate will be served throughout the evening under the church pavilion.

“This is Cornerstone’s gift to the community, there is no charge,” said Paul Griffin, project chairman and Cornerstone UMC member.
