Mingle with Kringle is today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come to downtown Newnan to celebrate the arrival of Santa to historic Newnan and witness the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Come drop by the Senoia Area Historical Museum and take a journey through the past. The museum’s newest exhibit,  “The Joy of Christmas Pasts,” showcases over 50 Christmas cards from the first half of the last century.  Come take a nostalgic trip down memory lane into the joys of Christmas past.  
In conjunction with the opening of “The Joy of Christmas Pasts,” the museum will open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.

This Christmas season, The Legacy Theatre invites you to step back in time as “The Andrews Sisters: Christmas of Swing” returns to the stage in Tyrone at 8 p.m. tonight. More than just a musical review of 1940s swing music, this family-friendly show is a hilarious, endearing,and at times poignant homage to America’s greatest generation. The show takes place on Christmas Eve, 1944, in a New York City rehearsal hall. The show will feature a 5-piece band plus vocalists – Marsha Dupree, Shawn Megorden, Carter McPherson and Vance West – all well known to Fairburn audiences from Ray’s sold out Motown Show this past August.Shea Johnson of Newnan will also appear with the group. Shea is well known in the Southside Community as a music and drama teacher at Landmark Christian School but also has enjoyed an extensive career as an actress and singer, touring the world for the USO, headlining on Cruise Ships and acting in many local and regional theater productions. The Brooks Woman’s Club presents the 9th annual Brooks Christmas Tour of Homes today from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free refreshments. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Brooks Town Hall on the day of Tour

“O Christmas Tea” –  The Business Woman of Fayette and Coweta  will be having their annual event benefiting Community Welcome House, a safe haven from domestic violence. Community leaders, local artists and some hard working volunteers are coming together today to host the 7th Annual Chair-ity Event, a fundraiser for abused children living in the cottages at The Children’s Village at Christian City.  This popular event will be held in the ballroom at The Dolce Atlanta, on Aberdeen Parkway in Peachtree City. Tickets are $25 in advance, includes your food and drinks, and automatically enters you in a drawing to win a golf cart. Dress is business casual. The Piedmont Newnan Hospital Auxiliary is holding its 26th Candlelight Tour of Homes Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.  This year’s tour will be highlighting five homes in the Historic Greenville-LaGrange district in Newnan. Proceeds from the event will be directed towards a $150,000 pledge for the establishment of a Healing Garden at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. This unique garden and water feature will be located to the right of the hospital’s front entrance with views from the chapel.  It will serve as a refuge of beauty, peace, and serenity for the community, patients, and staff. Tickets for this annual event go on sale November 8. Tickets and information are also available from Auxiliary members or by calling the Auxiliary Office at 770-400-2380. The 4th Annual Downtown Christmas parade begins at 5 p.m., followed by a tree lighting. Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is today at the historic American Legion “Log Cabin”, 180 S. Glynn St. in Fayetteville near the Old County Courthouse.  The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. Community patriotic ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Reenactment of the FDR’s famous speech to Congress following the attack, reading of the Presidential Proclamation, raising of a historic 48 star American Flag to honor the men and women of the “Greatest Generation” who served and those that were lost at Pearl Harbor.  The public invited to attend.

The annual Light Up Senoia event is today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Enjoy entertainment at the stage including Baton Twirlers, Christmas music, Fayette Fiddlers and more. Visit the food court for yummy food. Also pony rides and face painting for the kids. The holidays are right around the corner! The city of Newnan’s annual Christmas parade is today beginning at 3 p.m. A major change has been made this year on the parade route, specifically the location to begin. The parade will start on Greenville Street below Salbide Street and follow Greenville Street into downtown, left onto North Court Square, right onto LaGrange Street and then continue to Newnan High School where it will disband.It’s “A Winter Wonderland” so bring on your magical snow!  The parade will include floats, walking groups, decorated cars and trucks, and marching bands.

The annual Candlelight Tour of Homes in Senoia is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tour five historic homes and a historic church. Enjoy light refreshments at the Senoia Area Historical Society. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the tour. On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer… to the fifth annual Bedford Dasher 5K Run/Walk and 200m Elf Run today. The race will begin and end at The Bedford School, located at 5665 Milam Road in Fairburn.  93.3 The Joy FM will be broadcasting live from the race where there will be activities for the whole family including craft vendors, a bake sale, and a children’s Elf Run that includes a t-shirt, race ribbon, crafts and digital picture with Santa.
