Sara Moore Fowler, 97, of Fayetteville, Ga., formerly of Chamblee, Ga., passed away on Nov. 3, 2013 while a patient at Southwest Christian Care Hospice.

She was born on March 29, 1916 in Gainesville, Ga. and will be buried beside her husband of 55 years, James W. Fowler at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, Edward Lewis and Naomi Maddox Moore, and her four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Fowler Jarrett of Fayetteville and son, James E. (Brenda) Fowler of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Scott (Katie) Jarrett of Fayetteville, Stacy Jarrett Barnett of Fayetteville, Amy Fowler of Villa Rica, Mary Fowler (Jimmy) Brennan of Woodstock and Amanda Fowler of Villa Rica; also, great-granddaughter Jill Jarrett of Fayetteville.

Sara dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and had a gift for making all those around she feel deeply loved and cherished. Her unconditional love is the legacy she has left to all who knew her and is a tribute to her lifelong devout Christian faith. She was an active member of Clairmont Baptist Church for over 40 years and transferred her church membership to Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church when she moved to Fayetteville in 2001.

After raising her children, Sara enjoyed working for Rich’s at Lenox Square and Perimeter Mall for several years before retiring. Sara and Jim enjoyed many years traveling and camping with their family and friends and as members of the Lockheed Campers Club. Her positive spirit, sense of humor, and kind and gentle manner continued to touch everyone who had the privilege to know her throughout her 97 years.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. The burial will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville at 2:30 p.m. The family received friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
