This weekend’s lane closures

Georgia Department of Transportation projects to improve highway infrastructure throughout Metropolitan Atlanta continue this weekend, weather permitting. Construction projects on I-75 and I-285 will require lane closures, which, in turn, are likely to result in delays. Motorists are advised to exercise caution by reducing speed while driving through work zones.
 
The traveling public is encouraged to call 511 or consult 511ga.org  before departing for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
 
Planned work this weekend is as follows:

· On I-285, three northbound and three southbound lanes will close from SR 10/ Memorial Drive to East Ponce de Leon/ Church Street nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for striping;

· On the southwest side of I-285, two southbound lanes will close from SR 280/ South Cobb Drive to SR 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive  and two northbound lanes will close from the I-85 interchange to Bolton Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Three lanes will close on I-285 northbound and southbound at Atlanta Road and one eastbound and one westbound lane will close on Atlanta Road nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Two eastbound lanes will close on I-285 at Flat Shoals Road from 9 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Monday for paving and bridge work;

· One southbound lane will close on Georgia (State Route) 400 from the MARTA North Springs Station to Abernathy Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Saturday;
 
· Various lanes will close on Northridge Road over Georgia (State Route) 400 from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday;
 
· On I-20, three westbound lanes will close from Lee Street to Langhorn Street and two eastbound lanes will close from Langhorn Street to Windsor Street from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;
 
· Additionally on I-20, two eastbound lanes will close from Alcovy Road to SR 12/US 278 and the ramp from SR 12/US 278 to I-20 will close continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;
 
· On I-85, two northbound and southbound lanes will close from SR 139/ Riverdale Road to Cleveland Avenue nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for striping;
 
· On I-75, two southbound lanes and one northbound lane will close at the SR 5/I-575 interchange from 8 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday;
 
· The Express Lanes project will require one lane closure on the I-75 northbound ramp to I-285 eastbound from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday;
 
· On I-575, the Express Lanes project will require two northbound and two southbound lane closures at Chastain Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Saturday;
 
· Work on the Express Lanes project will require a pacing operation on the I-285 eastbound collector-distributer lanes from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday;
 
· Lastly, the Express Lanes will also require part of the ramp from I-75 southbound to I-285 to close from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday (see detour map);
 
· All northbound and southbound lanes will close on SR 14/ SR 139/ Roosevelt Highway from Princeton Avenue to Gateway Boulevard from 12 p.m., until 3 p.m., Saturday for a parade; and finally
 
· On SR 154/ Memorial Drive, one lane will close between Moreland Avenue and Wilkinson Drive and one lane will close on SR 154/ Memorial Drive between East Lake Drive and Candler Road both closures are from 9 a.m., until 3 p.m., Saturday.
