Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Rd., recently welcomed not one, but two new pastors to its church pastoral staff.

The Rev. Tamlyn Collins, associate pastor, Serve Ministries and the Rev. Joshua Toepper, executive director, Grow Ministries, round out the pastoral staff along with long serving pastors, Dr. Steve Dodson, senior pastor and the Rev. Sean Robinson, pastor of worship and congregational care.

Collins is a 2000 graduate of the Candler School of Theology, Emory University. She began her ministry at Duluth First United Methodist Church where she served as associate pastor for five years. She was then appointed to Berkmar United Methodist Church as senior pastor.

After serving at BYMC for three years, Collins received the call to Zambia, Africa where she served with the United Methodist Church under the umbrella of The Mission Society. She spent two years in Zambia where she was able to work with disadvantaged and orphaned children teaching them about Jesus and helping them to learn to read, write and speak English.

She also completed two water purification systems for impoverished villages as well as assisting local community health educators to feed hundreds of malnourished children.

Collins will oversee PTCUMC’s Serve Ministries which includes local, regional and international missions.

Toepper is a native of the Chicagoland area and has earned both his master of arts and a master of divinity degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has also worked for the International Leadership Institute here in Georgia in nearby Carrollton.

He is a nationally published blogger and podcast participant connected to the Seedbed online resource center which is affiliated with Asbury Seminary.

Toepper’s service in PTCUMC’s Grow Ministries will encompass children, youth, adult and small group ministries to help others “grow in their faith walk with Christ.”
