Fayette Shrine Club and Fayetteville Main Street will host the second annual Old Courthouse Chili Fest and Competition on the lawn of the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Fayetteville on Saturday, October 20 beginning at noon. Over 25 different cooks will be competing and showcasing their best chili and salsa recipes.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and the public will also vote to select a people’s choice award for chili and a people’s choice award for salsa.
The public is invited to taste chilies and salsas for a small donation between noon and 3 p.m. A live DJ will be playing some old time favorites throughout the event.

All proceeds for this event will support Shriner Hospitals for Children. Shriners support a network of 22 Hospitals for Children that provide specialty care for burn care, spinal cord injury care, cleft lip and palate care and orthopedic care. Shriners Hospitals for children relies on donations of Shriners and the general public. All care is provided regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.
