Deck the golf cart with boughs of holly! It’s time to light up the trail of lights and bring the family out to the annual Hometown Holiday extravaganza in Peachtree City on Dec. 5.

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. at Shakerag Knoll and end at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Lighting of the Tree at City Hall.
Those arriving via golf carts will be directed to a designated parking area at Shakerag so that they will have easier access to the Trail of Lights following the concert at The Fred.
Candy canes galore will be “hidden” at Shakerag Knoll and beginning at 5 p.m. kids ages 2-10 can participate in this seasonal candy hunt. There will be three separate categories for the children: 2-4, 5-7 and 8-10. Following the candy cane hunt, stroll over to The Fred and enjoy a program of holiday music and entertainment featuring The Peachtree Wind Ensemble, Twilight Theatre, Legacy Theatre, Southern Nights Chorale and the Huddleston Chorus. The family can participate by joining in with some favorite carols and sing-along, and maybe even catch a glimpse of the jolly old elf himself.
Attendees at The Fred are encouraged to get into the true spirit of the season by contributing a toy to the Toys for Tots campaign which is run by the Peachtree City Fire Department. A collection bin will be on-site at The Fred that evening.
Then hop on your golf cart and follow the trail of lights to City Hall to enjoy the traditional lighting of the tree ceremony. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and feature Music Alive performing a selection of holiday tunes. Visit with Santa throughout the program at the City Hall. He will be set up on his very own stage and big comfy chair-a perfect photo opportunity for the kids. The entire evening is expected to last until approximately 9:30.
