John Wesley Expert Will Speak at Hopewell United Methodist Church

Georgia based expert on John Wesley, Dr. J. David Hanson, will speak at Hopewell United Methodist Church (UMC), located at 351 Jenkins Road in Tyron, on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 9:30 am and 10:30 am.  A pot-luck lunch will follow.  The public is invited to attend.

Rev. Hanson is a retired UMC pastor and an expert on the founder of the United Methodist Church, John Wesley.  Rev. Hanson has spoken across Georgia and in Tanzania and Taipei.  He will provide an overview of Wesley’s life and teaching with an application of what Hanson thinks Wesley would say to us today.  Sixteen of Wesley’s sermons were preached at the St. Simon’s Island United Methodist Church and will be highlighted.

In addition to founding the United Methodist Church, John Wesley is well known for having said, “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.”
