My name is Beth Pullias and I have decided to run for Peachtree City Council Post 1, Don Haddix’s current post.
I am excited to take on the challenge, and look forward to a positive experience. By nature, I am not a politician. I have no great ambition to go far in a political career. In fact, mine will begin and end in Peachtree City.
My only hope is to be put in a position to be able to help make key decisions to shape the direction of our city. We have a great community and I want to keep it great.
My family and I have lived in Peachtree City for nearly 10 years now. We are proud to call Peachtree City our home. My husband and I have five children ranging in age from age 16 to age 5, and life is busy!
I have been very active with the city over the last several years and have taken it upon myself to stay abreast of most all of the issues.
I am currently president of Kedron Hills Homeowners Association, and initially my impetuousness to get involved in what was going on at the city level started there. I wanted to keep my neighbors informed as to what was going on city-wide to improve their involvement and their quality of life in town.
My interest grew to a level that I wanted to be involved not just as a representative of Kedron Hills, but as a citizen who cares about what is best for Peachtree City as a whole.
I have attended most all of the City Council and Planning Commission meetings over the last three years and have tried to be an advocate for the citizens. I have been president of Kedron Hills HOA for the last four years and on the board for six.
I helped to start the Peachtree City Civic Association in 2007, and the entire premise for this group is to advocate and be a voice for the citizens and convey that collective voice to the city government.
We have succeeded in helping to shape many of the council’s decisions over those years. I am ready to take it to the next level and be one of the decision-makers instead of one who just tries her best to influence them.
There is one thing I have learned, and that is there are just a handful of people that actually make the decisions in this town. I would like to be one of them.
I am very excited, and for those of you who are interested in finding out more about me I invite you to check out my website at www.pulliasforptc.com.
I love to write articles for The Citizen, as avid readers probably have seen over the years, so look for a bunch over the coming months that will give you more of a taste of what I would contribute to this great city. I look forward to hearing from you, and listening to you.
