A night of partying in Peachtree City and an alleged sexual assault have led to criminal charges against a Fayette man.

Brandon Lee Nix, 21, of Quarters Road just east of Peachtree City, was implicated by a Peachtree City man who told police Nix was kicked out of his home early Saturday morning after he was seen sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman who had either passed out or was very drunk, police said.

The resident said that after kicking Nix out of the home on Hamilton Road he went outside to speak with Nix, and that was when Nix pointed a .45-cal. handgun at him, police said. The resident said that at first the gun had a lock on it, but Nix unlocked it and then pointed it at the resident a second time, police said.

Nix then drove away from the residence, and police issued a radio alert on his vehicle, said Capt. Rosanna Dove. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office pulled Nix over on Ga. Highway 54 near Piedmont Fayette Hospital and Peachtree City officers took him into custody there, Dove said.

Prior to the alleged sexual assault, Nix and others were having drinks at the Red Room bar before they headed to the resident’s home on Hamilton Road, police said. Once they arrived at the home, the drinking continued, she added.

Police were summoned to the Hamilton Road residence at 4:30 a.m.
