James Wilford Cook Sr., 86, Fayetteville, died Oct. 13, 2008. He was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in Forest Park. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps in World War II. Services were at the Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Candy Thacker officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro.
Survivors include a son, James W. Cook Jr., Fayetteville; a daughter, Rhonda Cook and Jerry Stapleton, Fayetteville; grandchild, Christopher L. Stapleton; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225, Lester Rd., Union City, GA 30291. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayettevile, was in charge.
