On one hand, we are told that women must be supported in their desire to “have it all,” to be able to both work full-time and have a family. If someone suggests that it is better to stay home with the children, they are shouted down and told they are being anti-woman or old-fashioned.
On the other hand, Sarah Palin is being roundly criticized by feminists/Democrats/liberals for seeking the office of vice president while having five kids, one of whom is a 4-month-old with Down syndrome.
When it was revealed that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, the volume of criticism increased, with critics tsk-tsking Mrs. Palin for not paying enough attention to her family.
So, which is it, people? Is it okay for women to work and have a family? Or is it only okay for liberal women? Perhaps it’s only okay if you have two or fewer children.
Anyway, I just need to know so I can know which argument to have ready when I argue with liberals in my head.
