Keep your property unattractive to foxes

Red foxes are traveling through our yards in Kedron Hills regularly.

At least one pair of red foxes are hunting openly every day and evening in our subdivision, and there have been several sightings on and across the yards on Loring Lane and Chambray Hills. I have personally seen them and they show no fear as they hunt.

I suspect they head from one of their dens to the pool area searching for food around the trash cans.

I know this could be a potentially dangerous thing, and children and adults might need to be warned about scraps around the cans and food in the cans. The article I [read] recommends throwing in ammonia-soaked rags once a week.

I emphasize the importance of keeping trash picked up in neighborhoods, off cart paths, picnic and park areas during this summertime outdoor picnic and grilling time.

A gal who swims with me at the Aquatic Center said some people in her neighborhood actually feed foxes.

Wild animals are, after all, wild.
