Dispelling myths and lies about sheriff candidates

There have been many scurrilous charges spread about the various candidates for Fayette County sheriff in the upcoming election.

I'd like to dispel some of the common falsehoods.

1. Lie:Wayne Hannah will inappropriately visit your home if you complain about him in the Citizen
Truth: There is nothing inappropriate about this. This is actually good solid preventive police work, after all, the last 3 people who complained about Hannah in the Citizen had their houses mysteriously burn to the ground.

2. Lie:The name on Barry Babb's birth certificate is actually "Barack Hussein Babb".
Truth: I have no idea where this lie came from. Additionaly, the rumor that Babb was raised a Muslim is also untrue.

3. Lie:Thomas Mindar will beat you up if you disagree with him.
Truth: This lie has followed Mindar around his entire career. While Mindar may routinely threaten to beat up someone who disagrees with him, there is NO evidence that he actually follows through on these threats.

4. Lie:Dave Simmons sold his soul to the Devil to be promoted to Detroit police Commander.
Truth: Dave Simmons did not sell his soul to the Devil, he merely "loaned" it to the Prince of Lies for that promotion. In any event, the Devil found Mr. Simmons soul to be too shriveled and decayed to be of any use to him and demanded a refund.
