Katherine Helen Thompson, 85, Fayetteville, died Jan. 25, 2008. She was born Oct. 28, 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Katie Thompson. She was a graduate of Girls High School and Agnes Scott College. She was a member of Inman United Methodist Church. Graveside services were at the Inman United Methodist Church cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Devereaux officiating. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Joe Mangum Jr.; children, Dons Harvey, Gainesville, Fla., Patricia and Bill Bernat, Macon, and Joe and Jane Mangum III, Milledgeville; grandchildren, Stephanie and Eliseo Torres, Cathy Bernat, Michael and Mary Bernat, April and Darrell Thompson, and Grant Mangum; and a great-grandson, Emmanuel Torres. Memorial donations may be given to the Inman United Methodist Church, 151 Hillsbridge Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
