John Mendon Holland, 79, Fayetteville, formerly of Powder Springs, died Jan. 6, 2008, after a short illness. He was a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Memorial services are today, Jan. 9, at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Survivors include his wife, Louise Holland, Fayetteville; children, Brenda Welden, Newnan, J. J. Holland, Marietta, Lee Holland, Jonesboro, and Wayne Holland, Seminole, Fla.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, E. C. Holland, and Lawrence Holland; and sisters, Evie Walls, Ethel Miles, and Eula Ghorley. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
