Frances B. McElwaney, 87, Tyrone, died Dec. 21, 2007. Her special interest was her church and church family at Tyrone First Baptist, where she was a lifetime member. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McElwaney, and a son, Larry E. McElwaney. Services were at the Tyrone First Baptist Church with the Rev. Farron Roper officiating. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn and Donald Allred, Charlotte, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Cindy Earles, Pine Mountain, Ga.; grandsons, Mark and Renee McElwaney, Marietta, and Christopher McElwaney, Atlanta; a great-granddaughter, Ansley McElwaney, Marietta; sisters, Margaret Kapphahn, Floral City, Fla., and Rosemary Mathews, Monroe; and sister-in-law, Noreen Byrd, East Point. Memorial donations may be made to the Tyrone First Baptist Church. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
