Billie Damon Barnes, 82, Blytheville, Ark., died Dec. 7, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Barnes, who had retired from Delta Air Lines with 33 years of service. She had lived in Holiday, Fla., for 25 years and most recently live in Tyrone for the past two years. She loved to read, work crossword puzzles and was an avid bird watcher. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy.

Memorial services were at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel. Survivors include a son, Damon and Cathy Barnes, Tyrone; a daughter, Stacy Evers, Miami; and grandchildren, Jennifer Barnes, Jeremy Barnes, Kyle Evers, and Ryan Evers. Memorial donations may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten island, NY 10305. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
