Food, chips and dip, festive
decorations and hilarity rounded out the souper event, just one of the
many fun activities held for Fayette County seniors 60 and older at the
Friendship Center. The Center provides socializing and educational programs,
creative arts, exercise, lunch, music and games for seniors. Transportation
is provided on a limited basis for those who are unable to drive.
Each day attendees are given
a snack, participate in appropriate exercise, eat lunch and can enjoy
a game of Bingo. Each Friday at 10 a.m. the Friendship Walking Club takes
off. Once a month the group travels to Wal-Mart for shopping and on another
day participants visit the library.
The first Monday of each month
volunteer registered nurses give blood pressure checks. On other Monday's
the Center hosts various informational nutrition and educational sessions.
