Fayette Woman
magazine is under new ownership, ours.
Fayette Publishing,
Inc., which puts out The Citizen Newspapers, started publishing Fayette
Woman in November of 2002. The magazine discusses people and issues that
would be of interest to local women and is meant to provide a sense of
community among Fayette women.
"We want
our readers to feel like they are sitting down with a cup of coffee and
their friends when they read our magazine," said editor Jackie Morris.
Fayette Woman
features a cover story each month on a local woman or women that are making
a difference in the community. Since November the magazine has profiled

Council on Domestic Violence and the Fayette Youth Protection Homes; Phyllis
Harris, an employee in the Juvenile Court System; Lisa Spivey of DFACS;
and Melissa Thorsen, director of KidsPeace. January's issue profiles Georgia's
new superintendent of schools, Kathy Cox.
Aside fom the
cover story each month, Fayette Woman also has columns about shopping,
gardening, health, and life advice as well as articles on recipes, weekend
getaways, and more. There is a calendar section that readers are encuraged
to add to, an out and about in Fayette County photo page and wedding and
engagement announcements.
