Francis Marion
retook the lead at the 8:30 mark as senior guard Wade Tucker sank two
free throws to give the Patriots a 52-51 lead. After the lead switched
back-and-forth for a couple of possessions, the Lakers took the lead for
good on a clutch three-pointer by junior guard Jerry Johnson, which added
to his game-high 21 points. Johnson drained the basket as the 30-second
clock wound down, giving the Lakers a 62-56 lead with 3:48 remaining in

superb free throw shooting. The squad hit 12 of 14 free throws in the
final 1:27 and was led by sophomore guard Harris Skoutaris drilling six
of six shots from the line. Johnson and Frazier both were two for two,
while Fears and freshman forward Damon Sims went one for two.
The win improves
Clayton State to 4-8 overall and 1-1 in the conference, while the Patriots

today, traveling to Columbus State for a 7:30 p.m. game.
