The Fayette County Recreation Department will hold an introductory tree

climbing class on Sunday, Aug. 13. The class will be held at Brooks Park

at 2 p.m. at a cost of $10. Partiicpants will learn to climb trees the

safe way through the use of ropes, harnesses and other gear. Call Abe

The Fayette County Recreation

Department will be holding registration at the Kiwanis Recreation Center

for the Adult Fall Volleyball Season, Aug. 7-11 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.Leagues

offered this season will be a Tuesday Night Men's League, a Thursday

Night Women's league and a Friday Night Coed League. The fee for

each team is $140. Anyone who may be without a team but would like to

* 16, 17 and 18 year olds from Fayette, Coweta, southern Clayton and Henry

Counties are currently being registered for Big League Baseball. Sunday

* Southern Crescent Junior Team Tennis, for juniors ages 7-18, will play

in the 2000 season Sept. 29-Nov. 11. Registration runs from Aug. 7-20.

The cost is $13 USTA Jr. membership, $16 league fee and cost of team coaching.

The Fayette County 4-H Shotgun

Club will have their clay target trap range open for public use on Saturday,

August 12, 2000 from 9am-5pm. Adult donations for 25 thrown clay targets

will be $5.00 and high school and younger will be half price. Free coaching

will be available. The range is located about 6.5 miles south of Fayetteville

on GA highway 85. Questions may be directed to the Fayette County Extension

* The Peachtree City Tennis Center is accepting registration for their

Fall Ladies League. Matches will be played on Wednesdays beginning in

The Tyrone Softball Association

will hold registraion on Saturdays, Aug. 12 and 19 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

and Sundays, Aug. 13 and 20 from 1-4 p.m. at the Tyrone Recreation Center

for girls ages 4-18. The cost is $45 and ewarly signup is encouraged.

On Monday, Sept. 11, Christian

City will hold their annual Fall Golf Classic at Smokerise Golf and Country

Club in Stone Mountain. For $150, golfers can play this exclusive course.

The cost includes free range balls,snack lunch, after tournament buffet

and a tax deductible donation of $70 to the Chrostian City Home for Children.

The organiztional meeting for

the 2000 adult flag football program has been scheduled for Tuesday, Aug.

22 starting at 7:30 p.m. in meetng room #2 at the Kedron Fieldhouse and

Aquatic Center. The program is available to adult men and women over the

age of 18. A minimum of four teams are needed to start a league.
