I am a

native of Fayette County with a B.S. degree from the

University of Georgia and a law degree from Woodrow

Wilson Law School. I am a combat veteran of World War II,

having served with the 34th Infantry Division in Europe,

and was awarded the Bronze Star and the European Theater

Ribbon with two oak leaf clusters.

appreciate the support and confidence afforded me by the

citizens of Fayette County during the last 13 years as

judge of the Magistrate Court and 14 years as a member of

the Georgia House of Representatives. I pledge to

continue the duties of this office in a fair, honest,

impartial and common sense manner to the best of my

ability.

I do not

plan any significant changes in the operation of the

court. The judges and staff continuously receive comments

about the friendly, efficient and helpful manner in which

the court is operated in comparison to other courts in

this area.
