Boot drive a success in Peachtree City
The
Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Department collected
$5,500 for the Georgia Fire Fighters Burn Foundation
during its three-day "Give Burns The Boot"
drive held June 15-17.
Funds
collected through the boot drive will be used to help
support the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation's
year-round mission - to educate the public in burn
awareness and prevention, to support medical facilities
in the care of burns in Georgia, and to assist burn
survivors in their recovery.
The
department was one of more than 100 fire departments
throughout Georgia which participated in the 11th annual
"Give Burns The Boot" fund-raiser. Since its
inception in 1989, the "Give Burns The Boot"
campaign has raised more than $2.5 million for the
Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
