Super snacks make for super Super Bowl

Is it the

game or the food that makes Superbowl Sunday an American

tradition?

The passes

executed into the bowl of dip often surpass the ho-hum

tosses into the end zone during a typical Superbowl

match-up.

Last year's

Falcon fiasco was down-played by many fans who chose the

pimiento spread over the point spread.

This year's

match-up is still in question, but one thing is certain

- creating a delicious spread of "football

food" will keep the fans cheering.

Transforming

your Superbowl gathering into a "souper" bowl

event is as easy as shopping the canned soup and bean

aisle in your local supermarket.

Campbell's

Soup offers a variety of quick, easy to prepare appetizer

and entree recipes that fit perfectly into a halftime

gathering. Bush's beans offers a quick and easy dip

recipe and tortilla wrap idea that can be whipped up in

the time it takes to say "Interference."

For a

colorful pregame snack, try Pronto Picante

spinach dip from Campbell's:

call for:

Picante sauce

shredded Monterey Jack cheese (8 ounces)

1 package

(8 ounces) cream cheese cut into cubes

1 package

(about 10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and

well-drained

1 cup

chopped pitted ripe olives

In a large

saucepan, mix picante sauce, Monterey Jack cheese, cream

cheese, spinach and olives. Over medium heat, cook until

cheeses are melted, stirring often. Serve with tortilla

chips, fresh vegetables or bread cubes for sipping. Makes

5 1/4 cups.
