For the 2000 millennium

project, the Beautification Committee has gained an

enthusiastic partner in the form of Katherine Sumpter. A

Starr's Mill High School sophomore, Sumpter has organized

the planting of 2,000 daffodil bulbs in the landscaped

areas along Ga. Highway 54 near City Hall.

She will be working with

organizations of which she is a member, including Girl

Scouts of America Troop 19 and the Starr's Mill High

School Key Club, to recruit volunteers to help implement

the project.

Volunteers are needed and

welcome. The committee and volunteers will meet at City

Hall at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Anyone who would like to

participate can phone Betsy Tyler at 770-487-7657.
